IIMA has evolved from being India's premier management institute to a notable international school of management in just four decades.It all started with Dr. Vikram Sarabhai and a few spirited industrialists realising that agriculture, education, health, transportation, population control, energy and public administration were vital elements in a growing society, and that it was necessary to efficiently manage these industries.

The Institute had initial collaboration with Harvard Business School. This collaboration greatly influenced the Institute's approach to education. Gradually, it emerged as a confluence of the best of Eastern and Western values. The institute offers Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Management and Agri-Business Management, a Doctoral (Fellowship) Programme and a number of Executive Training Programmes. Research and Consultancy Services to industry form an integral part of the academic structure at IIM Ahmedabad, with several projects commissioned and funded by national and international organizations such as the Ford Foundation, UNO, World Bank, NCERT, Planning Commission, Central and State ministries etc.

Gujarat Science City is a bold initiative of the Government of Gujarat to realize this priority. The Government is creating a sprawling center at Ahmedabad which aims to provide a perfect blend of education and entertainment. It will showcase contemporary and imaginative exhibits, minds on experiences, working models, virtual reality, activity corners, labs and live demonstrations to provide an understanding of science and technology to the common man.
Gujarat Science City is envisioned to be an impact-making science appreciation and entertainment experience for the common citizen while providing special offerings to the educated and the gifted. the Government of Gujarat is keen to create such Gujarat Science City as will be become a role model for the developing world.

Darpana is an arts institution with a unique vision of how the arts can change the world.
Today, under the guidance of Mrinalini and her daughter Mallika, Darpana continues to answer these questions in the affirmative, and to show the world that art can play a vital role in human development. Darpana is a place where artists from all countries, traditions, and walks of life come together to employ art for the betterment of humanity. Darpana uses Indian dance, puppetry, music, theatre and television to educate, empower, and raise awareness about the critical issues of today.

Space Application Centre(SAC) is one of the major centers of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat . SAC focuses on the design of space-borne instruments for ISRO missions and development and operationalisation of applications of space technology for national development.
The applications cover communication, broadcasting, navigation, disaster monitoring, meteorology, oceanography, environment monitoring and natural resources survey. SAC designs and develops all the transponders for the INSAT and GSAT series of communication satellites and the optical and microwave sensors for IRS series of remote sensing satellites. Further, SAC develops the ground transmit/receive systems (earth stations/ ground terminals) and data/image processing systems

M J Library also known as Maneklal Jethabhai Pustakalay. Mahatma Gandhi laid the foundation stone of the library building on 21st September 1933 and a large number of books preserved in Satyagrah Ashram came from him as a gift to launch the collection to the public library.M.J. Library's Art an Picture gallery are vignettes of an old city that are as much a tribute to Ahmedabad as to the library itself.
The library has a collection of about six lakh books. It includes a rare collection of English, Gujarati, Hindi, Bengali, Sindhi, French, Greek, German, Italian, Portuguese, Urdu and Sanskrit literature. You can find all kinds of books on religion, mythology, philosophy, literature, chemistry, politics, media, mathematics, music and art. Autobiographies and biographies of famous personalities occupy the shelves as well. Upanishads, Vedas and Ayurveda books are also available. Besides these books, the library has guides for various competitive exams.

The very core of the Centre's philosophy is to take students, from both school and College, out of the rigid framework of textbooks and encourage them to think, explore and create.
Over the years, the Centre has combined formal and non-formal techniques to formulate many innovative methods to give students a better understanding of Science and Mathematics which not only make the process of learning enjoyable but also sustained and long lasting.
It has Interactive exhibition space, Open laboratories, Mathematics Laboratory, Science Playground. Also helped in develop the programmes for Satellite Institutional TeleVision Experiment (SITE) in 1971

NID has also been playing a significant role in promoting design.

It is an annual 13-day music event fom 1st to 13 January every year since 1980.
